United Airlines wrapped up its contract with the SkyWest Airlines which has lead nearly 650 workers stranded and in search for new jobs. The contract ended for a below-ring ground carriage handling at Denver International Airport. The contract originally was signed in the year 2011.
SkyWest’s Chief Operating Officer, Mike Thompson, reported, on Friday, to a local post that the employee’s responsibilities will be taken over by Simplicity Ground. It is an extended company of the UK based Menzies.
When contacted United Airlines, they stated that this change will allow them to function well in the competitive airline market. While a spokeswoman from SkyWest, Marissa Snow said that their company will be at ‘on-time reliability’ and is going to function even though in this competitive airlines.
Along with that SkyWest is not have any ground baggage handling in anytime future and ramp presence at Denver International Airport. However, such an alteration won’t affect the United Express.
