Indian Government Issues New Guidelines - No Covid Test Required Post Arrival

The pandemic struck many times with killer waves and deadly variants. Now after overcoming the major threat of COVID-19, industries are once again looking to bloom in 2022. From fewer and fewer casualty rates to the fast pace recovery rate, everything is going in a good direction for India. Earlier the government amended its guidelines for international travels many times and every time that happened people that were struck overseas panicked as to whether they can return home or not. But the Indian Government has brought good news for you all, as the new guidelines of the Indian Health ministry state that you no longer need a post-arrival COVID-19 test report and only need to monitor yourself and your health for 14 days.

The Omicron variant that came in November 2021 was the biggest threat to everyone as it infected fully-vaccinated people also. To keep the threat under control, the Indian government appointed many countries as ‘at-risk’ countries and levied strict restrictions on travelers coming to India from these nations. Starting from 14th February, the list of ‘at-risk’ countries has been dismissed and now people can travel more freely comparatively. No Covid Test Required Post Arrival

Most Important Points in Guidelines

  • All international travelers have to upload a self-declaration form detailing their travel report of the last 14 days with a negative RT-PCR test report (taken 72 hours before departure).
  • India will allow quarantine-free travel to fully-vaccinated passengers coming from other countries like Australia, Singapore, Nepal, and others. The list of countries whose passengers are allowed quarantine-free travel includes 82 names presently.
  • Earlier, every passenger from the dynamic list of ‘at-risk’ countries was required to be tested on arrival at the airport but now only 2% of passengers will be tested at random and they can also leave the airport without waiting for the reports.
  • The rule of compulsory seven days quarantine of international arrivals is no longer valid. Instead, people are required to monitor their health for 14 days and if the symptoms of coronavirus arise, then they have to contact their nearest health facility or inform on the helpline number 1075.

These are the four important changes that took place in the guidelines for international arrivals in India. This makes it the perfect time to fly to India as the travel crowd is considerably low and you can visit your favorite places like Goa beaches, backwaters of Kerala, mountain ranges of Himalaya, royal cities of Rajasthan, and many more.
