USA’s CDC Issues Level One Notice to Proclaim India Safe for Travel

After the COVID19 pandemic is gradually subsiding, travel has finally taken a positive outlook and things are looking up for everyone. In a recent travel development, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States of America has issued a “Level One” notice for its US citizens who are either planning to or traveling to India on US to India flights.

The Level One notice says that all fully vaccinated travelers who are traveling to India for any purpose have a low risk of contracting the virus and having it develop into severe symptoms.

To have further clarity on this subject for travelers, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also divided countries into 4 different zones.

Level 1: Low

Level 2: Moderate

Level 3: High

Level 4: Very High

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also mentioned in the notice that, “Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) authorized vaccine.”

This news update came soon after India announced its decision to resume quarantine free entry for travelers from 99 countries. The 99 countries have a mutual agreement as well to recognize the vaccination certificates of COVID19 with New Delhi.

Travelers who are arriving in India from England, France, Germany, Netherlands, America, Australia, and Russia have all been listed under “Category A”.

“As India opened its doors to fully-vaccinated international tourists from all over the world beginning Monday, India tourism Mumbai accorded a warm welcome to the first set of international tourists who landed at Mumbai International Airport by Air France flight AF218”, the Union Ministry of Tourism tweeted further on Twitter recently.

All that is now required of the travelers is that they submit a self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal here and they also need to upload their result of a negative RT- PCR test that isn’t any longer than 72 hours prior to their boarding their regular or last minute flights to India.
