US FAA DECIDES TO TAKE DOWN AIR INDIA DREAMLINER

border
On 20th August ’14 the FAA of US government prohibited an Air India Dreamliner, from flying over Seoul, so that it could examine the latter’s engines. The decision was taken as soon as the American operators saw an in-flight failure in the General Electric engine of Air Indian aircraft. The aircraft from Air India is named AI Dreamliner (VT-ANP) which was functioning on the route linking Delhi-Hong Kong- Seoul- Hong Kong- Delhi. The airlines then had to cancel its return flight to Delhi due to this online concern of the defected General Electric engine. Passengers stuck in the aircraft have been allotted stay-in rooms at hotels. However, such defaults in the in-flight engine is not for the first time as GE engines fixed in Boeing 787 and 747-8 are also experiencing the same issue for some time now. But, the defect in the AI Dreamliner is considered as the most serious one. Earlier, the airlines advised not to fly the Boeing anywhere near the thunderstorm due to the risk of icing on GE engines. After that, Boeing diverted its route and the new route helps in reducing the risk of icing on the GE engines. These problems had kept the Boeing 787 and B-747 to fly away from the clouds that had electric charge in them. Earlier, in winters of 2013, the Japan Airlines also withdrew the Dreamliner that was flying on the Delhi-Tokyo route. But the issue soon sorted out and AI got the permission to take its carrier in limited airspace.
